What To Watch On TV This Week: 10/27-11/2 (Spooky Edition)
Looking for something new to watch this week? Wanting to catch up on an old show, or starting a new show? Check out some of these shows on primetime cable—all during Halloween week.
Sunday, 10/27: The Houston Astros play the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park tonight! If you' don’t know what team to support, or don’t watch baseball at all, then ignore. But, this is the World Series we’re talking about! Go! Fight! Win! #finishthefight The series is 2-2, and this game could be a game-changer for either team. Not to sway you in one direction, but here’s some interesting news regarding the Astros that happened this week… and wish Juan Soto, 21-year-old Washington Nationals player, a happy birthday! He celebrated his birthday in style.
Monday, 10/28: Live, from Hollywood, it’s Dancing with the Stars! If you’re a big fan of DWTS like me, then definitely go ahead and watch this! It’s halfway through the season, and it’s going to be a tough choice having to choose between favorites. Between Hannah Brown, Karamo from Queer Eye, Lauren Alaina, James Van Der Beek, and that drunk one from The Office, I just can’t choose! Fortunately, one of my favorite nights of the show is on this week: and that’s group dances! Hannah, James, Ally Brooke, and Lauren are all on one team, and I. Cannot. Wait. It’s also Halloween week, so it’s double the spooky (and double the amount of dances the contestants have to learn). Tune in 8/7 Central to watch—and don’t forget to vote for your favorites! (Vote for Hannah, pls.)
Tuesday, 10/29: This Is Us on NBC. I don’t watch this show personally, but everybody has been raving about it. If you’re a huge fan of the Pearson family, don’t miss this one! (I personally happen to be a huuuuge Milo Ventigmalia fan since his stint on Gilmore Girls as resident bad boy Jess.)
Wednesday, 10/30: Archie Andrews. Archie Andrews holding a baseball bat (yet again). Can you tell who’s my favorite on Riverdale? Wednesday on the CW features a whole new episode in the new season of the Archie comics-based TV show. Archie tries to protect the town (again), Jughead unveils some secrets at his new school, and Betty and Veronica both come face-to-face with their past and trouble (respectively).
Wednesday, 10/30: I haven’t watched one episode of Survivor, but a brand new episode airs Wednesday night. “One castaway must decide if they are daring enough to take on a risky task after visiting the Island of the Idols,” the TV Guide says. If you like this show, go give it a watch on CBS at 8pm this Wednesday night.
Wednesday, 10/30: Six celebrities take the stage for their next performance of the season in The Masked Singer. Who’s under the mask? What actually happens in this show?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Thursday, 10/31: Your favorite TV doctors come back for an all-new episode in the sixth episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Dr. Karev (Alex) and Richard have to deal with some skeletons involved with the hospital (Pac-Gen North). Meanwhile, Teddy and Meredith tackle each being a “super-mom.” The cardio surgeon attempts to create Halloween costumes for Allison and Leo, while Meredith tries to make it home in time for trick-or-treating with her kids. I desperately need to catch up on Grey’s!! That’s what I’ll be doing this week, in preparation for the new Halloween episode.
Thursday, 10/31: The Good Place. I haven’t watched this show, but apparently…one of the new residents (of The Good Place) creates a division in the ranks. Catch it on NBC at 9pm central.
Thursday, 10/31: Freeform is playing Hocus Pocus literally all day. Freeform put a spell on you…
Friday, 11/1: Catch Fresh Off The Boat, a show about an Asian family who just immigrated to America. The dad, Louis (played by Randall Park) pursues his dream of opening up a restaurant. His wife, Jessica, is played by the famous Constance Wu, who starred in Crazy Rich Asians and Hustlers. This show is definitely a show that you can put on while multitasking, but you’ll end up laughing the whole way through.
Saturday, 11/2: Saturdays are for the boys—football boys, let me correct that. It’s college football, baby! If your team is playing, get together a group of your friends and watch the game. Chips and guac, salsa, and hot dogs are just some of the meals that you can prepare for a tailgate. (And White Claws, of course.)
Happy TV-watching, my pop culture friends! Let me know what you end up watching—I’ve been meaning to start a new show. I’m thinking This Is Us—right after I catch up on Grey’s.
