15 Rom-Com Books to Cozy Up With This #CozyGirlFall
As a part of #cozygirlfall, one thing on my bucket list was to read more thrillers. But tbh, I read two and I’m ready to dive back into a good romance. I’m not swearing off thrillers forever, but who can resist a good, charming rom-com? Especially these that I found! These books below are some I’ve read and some are recommendations coming from various book lists, influencers, and #bookstagram.
Have you read any of these?
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling
I’ve heard this is Hocus Pocus, but add sex and romance. Two witches are on a mission to save their town—only that the two witches are exes. As they try to break the curse, they also try to stave off the chemistry between the exes.

Payback’s a Witch by Lana Harper
A fall, spooky, Halloween rom-com? Yes, please! For fans of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, this one’s for you! Emmy, a witch, hasn’t visited her magical hometown in years. After getting her heartbroken by a powerful warlock, Gareth, and heir to a powerful magical family, she didn’t want to come back to the town. However, when a spellcasting tournament pulls her back in for her familial duty, she sees this as an opportunity to reconnect with her family and friends. When she runs into another ex of Gareth, and realizes that he’s a charmer and a cheater, can they get revenge? And is Emmy willing to go along with the plan? Throw in a little romance and you got yourself a spooky rom-com. Excited to add this to my TBR!

Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
I have to admit, I’m about halfway through this one and just can’t get into it. I’ve heard GREAT reviews of this book and the other two books in the series. If you like Bridgerton, then you’ll surely like this one. A fiercely independent vicar’s daughter who is studying at the University of Oxford and supporting the rising women’s suffrage movement meets Sebastian Devereux, the cold and calculating Duke of Montgomery. As she tries to recruit him for this movement, she can’t ignore the growing attraction between the two.

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun
Um, it’s Bachelor season (and has been Bachelor season all year), so for all the Bachelor fans out there, this one’s for you. The love story is set between a producer, Dev Deshpande, on the Bachelor-inspired show, Ever After, and its lead, Charlie Winshaw. Dev believes in fairy tales, while Charlie hates everything true love and only wants to be on the show for his image. I’m excited to add this Bachelor-inspired book with LGBTQ representation to my TBR.

You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria
I just finished this book in September, and I thought it was really good! The book follows Jasmine (who plays Carmen in a new telenovela) who meets Ashton, the male lead in the telenovela. They play opposite each other in the show, while behind the scenes, they struggle to be friends. Well, they do become friends and eventually lovers. However, Ashton is hiding a big secret and Jasmine is trying not to get into a relationship. What could happen in this Latinx rom-com?

A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria
I just finished this in October, on audiobook, and let me tell you—I liked this better than its predecessor, You Had Me At Hola. I’m not sure why, but I resonated with Michelle’s character rather than Jasmine, but that’s just personal preference. (However, Ashton will always have my heart.) The book follows Michelle and Gabe, two childhood best friends. Gabe left town, the Bronx, and his entire family to move to LA for college and eventually to open his own gym. Michelle stayed behind, went to college, started her career, and went freelance. But a potential business opportunity sends Gabe back to New York for a short time, bringing Michelle and Gabe back together after this long time apart. Honestly, go check out this DELIGHTFUL rom-com that includes sweet, spice, and some bisexual representation.

Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade
I love any book with body diversity, and when a book has that AND it’s a rom-com set in the world of fanfiction, I just have to check this out. When the star of the hit show on TV creates a fanfiction (anonymously) about the show that he’s on and a hardcore fan of that show posts a photo of her in a cosplay outfit and it goes viral, what can happen? A dating publicity stunt, of course. I’m excited to add this fanfiction, cosplay rom-com to my TBR.

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
OKAY, initially, I judged this book by its cover and did not want to read it. I thought, oh, it’s about math—I’ll pass. But honestly, it looks pretty good. Olive, the main character, doesn’t date. She’s a third-year Ph.D. candidate—she doesn’t have time! But to prove to her best friend that she is dating, she panics and kisses the first man she sees—Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor. When they enter into a fake relationship, what happens? What happens when a big science conference goes haywire? Things heat up … and not just in the science lab.

The Sweetest Remedy by Jane Igharo
A young woman, Hannah Bailey, travels to Nigeria to attend the funeral of the father she never knew … and she meets her extravagant family for the first time, a love interest, and parts of herself she didn’t know were missing. As Hannah is curious about who her father was and who his family is, she seeks out answers from his family while they plan his funeral. The days leading up to the funeral, she seeks answers and finds a culture she never thought she would understand or appreciate. Excited to add this to my TBR!

Meg & Jo by Virginia Kantra
Okay, I loved this Little Women modern retelling, specifically focusing on the older March sisters, Meg and Jo. Meg, as a wife and mother, seems to have all she ever wanted—including the charming, suburban house. But her life isn’t as it seemed to be. Jo, always independent Jo, moved to New York and never thought her career in journalism would come crashing down, leaving her to be a prep cook and a secret food blogger. But when their mother’s illness forces the sisters home to North Carolina, they’ll rediscover what really matters.

Beth & Amy by Virginia Kantra
The sequel to Meg & Jo, this one is probably my favorite out of the two. I loved the story of Beth and Amy March, the two young March sisters. Beth is dating a country singer/songwriter, writing songs for him as he performs them. However, Beth has terrible stage fright. Health issues (and a wedding) bring her back home to North Carolina and she rediscovers what truly matters. And Amy, the youngest of the March sisters, has moved to New York City to work on her handbag line. As a young aspiring fashion designer struggling to make it in NYC, she makes the trip back to North Carolina for a wedding and like her sister Beth, rediscovers what truly matters (and tries to hide a secret she’s been carrying for years).

Last Chance Books by Kelsey Rodkey
When I found out this is a You’ve Got Mail modern retelling, I immediately had to add this to my TBR. (It’s my favorite movie.) Madeline dreams of taking over her family’s bookstore after college—until a chain bookstore called Prologue opens across the street and threatens to shut them down. When they battle it out, Morgan finds that the guy, Jasper, who works there is actually … charming and cute. From the official book description: “...all’s fair in love and (book) war.” Definitely adding this to my #cozygirlfall TBR.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
I just finished this book in September and can’t believe that I didn’t pick it up sooner. It was a cute, charming rom-com that told the story from the point of view from the two main characters: Chloe Brown and Red, the hot male lead. Chloe is a chronically ill computer geek who has moved out on her own out of her family’s mansion. She has set out to achieve her “Get a Life” list that includes: enjoy a drunken night out, ride a motorcycle, go camping, have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex, travel the world with nothing but hand luggage, and … do something bad. Enter: Red Morgan, a bad boy artist who works as a handyman in her apartment building. Can he help her with her list? And will a little romance spark between them? You’ll have to read to find out.

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert
Aside from Get a Life, Chloe Brown, I want to pick up the next two books in this series, including Take a Hint, Dani Brown. This is giving me vibes from the You Had Me At Hola books (and A Lot Like Adios), with three sisters’ stories being told in each book. I LOVE these kind of books. Dani wants academic and professional success. But romance? Not a chance. When she accidentally is rescued by brooding security guard and former rugby player Zafir Ansari, the public is shipping them together. Can they fake a relationship so that his sports charity for kids gets enough publicity? Would Dani seduce him? IDK, but I want to find out. This sounds like the PERFECT love story for #cozygirlfall.

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert
As the flightiest Brown sister, Eve is a hot mess. After a wedding gone wrong, her parents expect her to grow up. Enter: Jacob Wayne, always in control as a bed and breakfast owner. When Eve applies for a job with him, he immediately says no—until she accidentally hits him with his car. His B&B is understaffed so he’s forced to hire Eve. However, once things heat up in the kitchen and in close quarters, who knows what could happen? I’m adding this to my TBR as well to find out.
