Things I'm Loving: Quarantine Reads, Podcasts, and Sharing Positivity!

How have you been doing, friends?

Earlier this week, I was confused on what day it was. It’s just been a crazy…month. I think each week, something in the world affected by this pandemic hits me and really soaks in. My heart goes out to everyone who’s been affected. I wish them the best as all of us navigate this period in our lives.

So, let’s spread some positivity, shall we? With quarantine and self-isolation still continuing, I thought I’d share some positive links. I’ve been reading a lot of blogs, and I’ve been trying to find new blogs to read, so if you have a blog, leave it down in the comments below!! I’d love to read it!

READS:

Harry Potter // I talked about this in my What I Read in April post, but I read the third and fourth HP books. Y’all, it doesn’t matter if you’ve read it a thousand times or have never read it at all…it’s the PERFECT quarantine read!!

LISTENS:

But, What’s Next? with Michelle Reed // YouTuber Michelle Reed launched her podcast last week, and already she has two episodes. Michelle is one of my favorite YouTubers to watch. In her podcast (and on her channel), she talks about post-grad life, what to do when you graduate college, negotiating your first salary, and so much more. She interviews experts, like her college professors and other experts in their field. Highly, highly recommend.

WATCH:

Michelle and Aline YouTube channel // been loving their quarantine content. They don’t post every day, and they mix up their videos. They’re young 20-somethings living in NYC (not right now) and relatable!

POSITIVE LINKS:

This article from TheStripe.com about supporting independent bookstores. // Tbh, I just ordered two new books from Amazon, but I’m starting to look at Bookshop.org, a website that supports small, indie bookstores.

I absolutely love The Everygirl’s desktop/phone wallpapers! // Saved a couple of these to use on my phone and Mac.

This article about productivity // Definitely worth the read if you don’t feel productive enough.

Tik Tok // I’m addicted. If you don’t have the app, I don’t recommend you download it. Or do, some of the videos are actually pretty cool and you can easily slip into watching these short videos for two hours. (Hey, they help with anxiety.)

John Krasinki’s Some Good News YouTube channel // If you haven’t heard of this, go catch up on his videos!! He shows different clips and messages from people around the world—including the original Broadway Hamilton cast and first responders and medical personnel.
