Five Workouts To Do If You Hate Working Out + Fitness Influencers To Follow For Motivation

Workouts You Can Do If You Hate Working Out

Maybe you put “workout five days a week” on your New Years resolution list. There’s no shame in doing so! However, working out five days a week—especially if you’ve ever said “I hate working out” (like me), can be a bit of a stretch of a goal.

I hate working out. I think it is partly because from a lack of discipline, but partly because I feel like going to the gym is intimidating. However, since finding workout programs and videos like Obe Fitness and various fitness influencers who don’t scream at you to do more burpees, I’ve found a sweet spot in working out. Here are five workouts and fitness videos to watch and have fun to this year to fulfill your “working out” and “exercise” goals.

Obe Fitness

I absolutely love Obe Fitness, and sometimes, I have to admit, I’ve ignored my calendar reminders to take workout classes. But when I do commit to Obe Fitness, I have a lot of fun in the live and on-demand exercise classes. Obe integrates with your calendar so that you can plan your workout classes at the beginning of the week! There are over 6,000 on-demand workouts or you can tune into the live classes happening seven days a week. I love the dance hiit classes (especially the ones taught by Walter K.) and I’ve been really getting into yoga lately. Plus, the 28 minute classes really drew me in. Short and sweet, but you still feel like you’re getting a workout in!

Walk For 20-30 Minutes Each Day

Walking is not only good for your physical health, but mental health as well! It may not seem like a “big” workout, but simply walking for 20-30 minutes a day is healthy in itself.

Desk Activities

It may sound silly, but an under-the-desk elliptical, exercise ball, or a standing desk can be worth it if you have an insanely busy schedule! An exercise ball or standing desk can improve posture, while you can get your steps in on an under-the-desk elliptical.

My next idea for a workout is simple, fun, and FREE. Yes, I said it. This next exercise to do is FREE.

Fitness Influencers To Follow For Motivation

You do not have to have a fancy gym membership or equipment to work out or commit to your exercise goals. All you need is a phone, computer, or iPad (or any sort of device you watch TV on) and a YouTube account. These fitness YouTubers/influencers below are amazing and I always go to them for fitness discipline and workout classes.

MadFit

During the pandemic, I loved MadFit’s (on YouTube) stretching/yoga videos! She also has great strength and ab/core videos as well. In addition to her videos, she developed an app, the MadFit app, where she posts similar videos, workout plans, meal plans, and more.

EMKFit

One of the best fitness influencers/YouTubers on YouTube … hands down. I started taking her dance classes, combined with hiit moves, and I genuinely can say I have SO much fun in her short, 20-30 minute classes. Some of her recent videos are Taylor Swift and Jonas Brothers themed. Almost all of her dance videos are pop culture themed.

Stand Unshaken

Stand Unshaken was founded by Denika, a certified yoga teacher, life coach, and retreat leader. As a Christian wellness community, centered on the verse Psalm 16:8, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken,” it’s a space where women can feel inspired, celebrated and encouraged to become the best version of themselves. I’ve been taking a few yoga classes on its YouTube channel, and already feel my shoulder tension easing and relaxing. Highly recommend!

AND THAT’S IT! Normally, I hate working out, but I try and find fun workouts that make it seem like I’m not working out and just having fun. What do you like to include in your workout routine?
