Finding Your Style During The Holiday Season

Holiday season is coming up, y’all.

Are you playing Christmas music already? Because I am. And I’m not even ashamed.

Part of Christmas season includes shopping for winter clothes!! Something very exciting is coming to the ‘gram (hopefully!) this December, and I am very excited to unleash it onto my two followers that like my photos.

It takes a while to find your particular style. You have to constantly try on different clothes, styles, and brands. Some don’t work out. Most don’t work out. But the right style will fit you. Here are some tips to finding your individual style—just in time for the holidays.

When picking out an outfit, don’t worry about what other people wear (or think).

A big part of my signature “look” is that I look to Instagram and see what the latest influencer trend is—however, it’s important that four hours into your standard workday, you’ll feel comfortable instead of shifting around in your seat trying to adjust that trendy skirt you were itching to try. The key to feeling comfortable is trying different outfits to see what works well for you. Your “look” is you and what makes you, you.

For holidays, picking your outfits for different events boils down to what you prefer. For the casual, comfy gals out there who like leggings, maybe leggings aren’t appropriate for work—try Chinos and a nice work blouse instead. At holiday gatherings, opt for these faux leather leggings that are in style—they’re versatile! You can dress them up with boots and a fancy top, or dress them down with a sweater for that seasonal Target trip. For the chic gals who enjoy the expensive side of fashion, there’s no doubt in going towards the J. Crew, Talbots, LOFT stores. However, if your bank account doesn’t allow them, then thrift stores always carry those brands. You can find anything at thrift stores—if you’re lucky. Opt for a midi skirt with tights, A-line shift dress with tights and boots, or my favorite pair of pants from Talbots that always does the trick with a nice blouse.

Finding your style takes time—like, a while. And, brands and stores help you in finding a style. Some people like shopping at Nordstrom, Saks, Talbots, and all those other stores, while others hit the thrift stores. It’s completely up to you—it doesn’t matter what you like, it just matters that you develop your own personal style. Because ladies, fashion matters. It contributes to your personal style, which contributes to your personal brand, which distinguishes who you are as a person. And we’re all about individuality here.

What’s your style? LMK!
