Dancing with the Stars Week 6 Recap: Disney Night + Team Dances

It’s Disney night! This week’s Dancing with the Stars had it all: an electric Disney-themed night, epic team dances, and a few surprises along the way. Michael James Scott kicked things off with a dazzling rendition of “Never Had a Friend Like Me” from Aladdin, joined by the pro dancers, setting a magical tone for the evening.

The judges seemed to misplace the 10s with the Mickey ears, as seen from previous seasons. They stuck to their usual 8s and rare 9s. By this point of the season (week 6), we should have seen a 10—even if it’s not the 10 from Len. DWTS pro viewers notice that by this time in the season, we see at least one 10.

Here’s the rundown of the couple and team performances, along with scores and standout moments!

dancing with the stars week six disney night recap

Individual Dances

Stephen and Rylee - Charleston to “A Star Is Born” from Hercules

These two were adorable with great chemistry, but their Charleston could’ve used a bit more energy to match the content-packed routine. Rylee seemed thrilled to tackle this style, although timing was slightly off. They wowed with lifts but were reminded to keep an eye on timing. Still, viewers are still seeing Stephen as a top contender. Or, at least someone to go to the semi-finals.

Judges’ Scores: 8, 8, 8 = 24

Jenn and Sasha - Rumba to “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid

Jenn’s fluidity was beautiful, and she and Sasha shared effortless chemistry—something that viewers haven’t noticed until recently. This performance was graceful and nearly flawless, though the judges suggested some fine-tuning. Derek wanted a bit more rib cage fluidity, while Bruno noted a slight misstep. Carrie Ann praised it as Jenn’s best dance yet.

Judges’ Scores: 8, 8, 8 = 24

Joey and Jenna - Samba to “Trashin’ the Camp” from Tarzan

Joey brought infectious energy and control to the song from Tarzan, making it one of the night’s highlights! His movements were sharp and expressive, with a dash of that Disney magic. Even the viral moment that had all of America (or at least the DWTS fans) recreating it on social media. Carrie Ann likened him to a Disney character come to life, though she felt he could control the bounce. Derek echoed this, highlighting Joey’s top contender status, but noted that he needs to work on more fluidity in his arms.

Judges’ Scores: 8, 8, 9 = 25 (Bruno was clearly team Joey!)

Chandler and Brandon - Paso Doble to Zombies

Simply flawless! Chandler danced to her own song from the DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) that she starred in. Chandler and Brandon nailed every beat with intense focus and sharp movements. The judges were all in agreement.

Judges’ Scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27 (Deserved all 10s, right?)

Phaedra and Val - Jazz inspired by Cruella de Vil

This jazzy number was sultry, and while Phaedra missed a few steps, she brought charisma and confidence. The judges loved the attitude, though Derek and Bruno noted she could keep up with Val more in faster sections.

Judges’ Scores: 8, 8, 8 = 24

Danny and Witney - Jazz to “Bye Bye Bye” inspired by Deadpool and Wolverine

This routine was full of fun, creativity, and impressive lifts! Danny showed personality and confidence, and the judges agreed he’s underrated. Although, I really wanted to see more dancing, he continues to show that he’s a top contender.

Judges’ Scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27

Dwight and Daniella - Tango inspired by Wreck-It Ralph

Dwight showed major progress with footwork and staying in frame, and Daniella’s choreography shined, especially in adapting to their height difference. Carrie Ann noted some mistakes on timing, but overall, complimented the dance.

Judges’ Scores: 8, 8, 8 = 24

Ilona and Alan - Jazz to “Surface Pressure” from Encanto

Ilona wowed with her growing confidence and flawless lifts. The steps were all there and executed well, although there could be a bit more fluidity in her movements. Her captivating performance had the judges calling her inspiring, though they encouraged her to balance storytelling with technique.

Judges’ Scores: 9, 8, 8 = 25
