5 Comfort Shows That I Love To Re-Watch

Honestly, there are a select number of shows that I re-watch. These are what I like to call my “comfort shows.” We all have them, so I don’t need to explain the meaning behind comfort shows. These are the shows that feel comfortable and are feel-good shows, or the shows that at least bring me peace while watching them. Even though I’ve watched every episode at least three times, I can still love and appreciate each moment.

So, here’s an ode to the five comfort shows that I will absolutely re-watch.

Gilmore Girls

This is my all-time favorite comfort show. I watch this show all year round, not just in fall, but who’s really counting that? Lorelai, Rory, and Emily are THE Gilmore Girls and you haven’t watched GG until you crave one of Luke’s burgers from Luke’s Diner. Oh, and you also haven’t watched the show repeatedly when you’re dying to hear Hep Alien perform live. (Reunion tour???) This is my ultimate comfort show that I will never not watch.

New Girl

My second all-time favorite comfort show because who can’t fall in love with these five quirky roommates who all have feelings for each other? This is like the Los Angeles version of Friends, and I love every moment of it. I love the timeline of Jess and Nick’s relationship (except for that brief stint where Nick dated Reagan) and I think Winston is loosely based on me. (Just kidding.) Honestly, this is an underrated comfort show that I will forever cherish.

Friends

Just like New Girl, Friends is another great sitcom comfort show. I don’t watch this show as much anymore because it got taken off Netflix and put on HBO Max, which I just got btw, but I still love this show with my whole heart and will probably always love this show. Who can’t love this five group of friends who just is always together?

Grey’s Anatomy

Although this show makes me sob uncontrollably, I will always return back to this show when I need a good tug on my heartstrings. Yes, this show has gone on way too long, but I always find myself on the edge of my seat on Thursday nights. Who’s your favorite character? I personally love Maggie and Winston and despise Amelia. Of course, I love Meredith and Miranda will always be one of the greats.

Sex and the City

My last comfort show is Sex and the City. This surprised me, but I found myself turning this show on one or two weekends for a good comfort re-watch. The 90s flair and throwbacks to Carrie and Big’s relationship turmoil were of great comfort to me, and I can argue that Charlotte is arguably the best character on this series. Charlotte’s growth from sorority sister to full-on adult in her 30s who discovered the true meaning of love isn’t just found in looks, is incredible to me. Plus, her story arc in And Just Like That… was the best out of all the girls.

What’s your comfort show? Do you have a favorite out of this list, or do you have your own favorite? Let me know down in the comments!
