Lease on Love by Falon Ballard 

I gave this book three stars, but I definitely would recommend this friends-to-lovers, roommates-to-lovers romance to read in the spring. It was simply delightful. The main character, Poppy, recently quit her job and decided to fulfill her dream of opening a flower shop. However, she lives in Manhattan and needs to pay her rent—so she moves in with Jack, whom she met online (uhhh scary), who lives in a Brownstone in Brooklyn. (He’s basically a unicorn.) You can’t get any more spring than a romance book with a flower shop. 

Book Lovers by Emily Henry 

Emily Henry can do no wrong and in her most recent book (her latest book, Happy Place, is about to come out in April!), she introduces Nora Stephens, a literary agent who spends a vacation with her little sister in a small town that’s the setting of one of the books by the authors she represents. There, she runs into her work nemesis, Charlie Lastra, or the man who became bookstagram’s book boyfriend last year (2022). This small town romance (also set in New York a little) will have you yearning for a good Hallmark movie. I still think about this book to this day. 

The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory 

I love this book so much and will always recommend it to anyone I meet. Even the book cover screams spring with its light blue background and a baseball on the front. The book introduces Nikole, a freelance writer who dumps her actor boyfriend after he proposes to her (after six months) on the Dodger stadium jumbotron. Enter: Carlos (friend of Drew from The Wedding Date) who swoops in and saves the day, or at least whisks her away from public humiliation. They start a casual relationship but honestly, their feelings grow for each other. 

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey 

I love Tessa Bailey and her books, but this one is the one to read by her. If you love Schitt’s Creek, then you will love this book. Piper Bellinger is sent off by her step father (alongside her sister, Hannah) to live in the small fisherman town of Westport, Washington, where her biological father lived when he was alive. Piper and Hannah are sent there and not too soon after, decide to remake their late father’s bar. Well, Piper meets the grumpy Brendan Taggert, a fisherman who captains the fisherman’s boat. They start out on the wrong foot but along the way, there are definitely feelings there… 

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren 

This may classify as more of a summer beach read, but I would definitely read this in the spring if you’re going on a beach trip for spring break. Olive and Ethan do not like each other. However, they are forced to work together as Olive is the maid of honor in her sister’s wedding, her sister marrying Ethan’s best friend. Well, after an unfortunate mishap with the food giving everyone in the wedding but Olive and Ethan food poisoning, Olive’s sister begs Olive to go on the non-refundable honeymoon that she won from a contest. Ethan joins begrudgingly and so Olive and Ethan embark on this honeymoon and have to pretend to be married so they can use up this free trip. Again, this enemies-to-lovers will surely be a delightful read this spring. 

Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert 

Honestly, I still think about Chloe Brown to this day. Chloe Brown is a computer geek who works from home. After almost dying, she crafts a list, a “Get A Life” list that she has to complete. But she needs help. After moving into an apartment, she enlists the help of the apartment’s handyman, Red Morgan who is a tattoo-ridden handyman with a motorcycle (perfect for her list). She enlists Red on her mission to rebel. Red reluctantly agrees to help, but resents Chloe for her wealthy background. However, as they spend more time together… they start to get to know each other more…  

The Dating Plan by Sara Desai 

Even with a step-by-step plan, these fake fiances might accidentally fall for each other. Daisy Patel is a software engineer who understands lists and logic better than bosses and boyfriends. Liam Murphy is a venture capitalist with something to prove. Daisy wants to get her family, who expects her to get married, needs to find a partner to bring home to her family. Liam needs to get married to receive his inheritance. When Daisy asks Liam to be her decoy fiance, it’s an offer he can’t refuse. If only he hadn’t broken her tender teenage heart nine years ago… They go on a series of dates to legitimize their fake relationship, however, history and chemistry aren’t about to follow the rules of this engagement. 

The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams 

This friends-to-lovers, sports, closed-door romance is the perfect solution for the spring. Bree and Nathan are friends from high school who grew apart in college and then they are now best friends again. Bree is the owner of a ballet studio and former ballerina while Nathan is a professional quarterback. They haven’t been able to have long-term relationships with other people because of their undisclosed feelings for each other. When Bree makes a mistake of drunkenly spilling her secret crush on Nathan to a reporter in disguise, Bree and Nathan embark on a fake dating scheme. But when does the fake stop being fake? 

When In Rome by Sarah Adams 

Can’t get enough of Sarah Adams’s writing? This small town romance with a twist of normal person/celebrity romance will surely hit you in the feels. Amelia Rose, or Rae Rose to her fans, hits burnout very hard and decides to take a trip to the only place she can think of: a city called Rome, because it’s from Rome in Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn, her favorite actress. Her car breaks down in front of a stranger’s house, the stranger being grumpy Noah Walker who owns a pie shop/bakery. The forced proximity and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic makes for an excellent, delightful romance.
