Fun Podcasts to Listen To When You Need To Unwind And Relax
I used to listen to a lot of podcasts … until I, well let’s just say, burnt out on podcasts. I felt like there were too many podcasts to listen to and frankly, I started listening to more audiobooks than podcasts.
But that all stopped when I started searching for podcasts to entertain me. Don’t get me wrong—I still love listening to podcasts to inform and educate on whatever topic the podcast provides information on, however, I’ve been loving a good podcast to entertain me on my daily mental health walk.

Shameless
I recently found this podcast on a whim while reading an article and I’m actually obsessed. I found a series they did in November 2022 on “Hailey, Justin, and Selena.” And this was all before the February 2023 drama on TikTok. It’s a four-part series on who these three people are and how they’re connected—and while I am a big fan of Selena and always have been, and was a mega fan of Justin Bieber, there were so many things underneath the surface. While I thought I knew of things and were plugged into what was going on, there are A LOT of things to learn about, like when Hailey and Justin’s relationship started, when they met, when Justin and Selena were together (and not together). Listen if you need an addicting podcast series to plug into.
Bad on Paper Podcast
This is one of the podcasts that I listen to each week, on Wednesdays, when a new episode airs. Hosted by Becca Freeman and Olivia Muenter, they talk about books and other lifestyle recommendations. Some of my favorite episodes have included their series on writing a novel, an episode on career advice, and a romcom roundup. One of the hosts, Becca Freeman, is a debut author with her debut book coming out in September 2023 (already pre-ordered!) so she talks about book writing and pitching to agents. Listen for fun banter on books and pop culture!
Gals on the Go
Another podcast that I will always recommend! This is a fun chatty podcast hosted by lifestyle vloggers on YouTube, Brooke Miccio and Danielle Carolan. They talk about anything and everything, mainly NYC lifestyle, pop culture, what they’re loving (they give great product recommendations!), and more. They interview pretty cool guests as well including hair stylists, makeup artists, and a gynecologist. Listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and also watch the video portion on YouTube!
Match Made in Manhattan
I’ve been following Katy Bellotte on Instagram and YouTube for years, and even her podcast “Thick and Thin,” but I love her podcast that she hosts with two of her friends. They talk all about dating in Manhattan, but even if you don’t live in Manhattan, this is a great podcast to listen to for dating advice. It’s like you’re getting dating advice from your besties, but except, it’s three people on the Internet. They’re so hilarious that you’ll be howling laughing on your afternoon mental health walk.
Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain
I never followed Emma Chamberlain in her YouTube days. But I love her podcast and the conversations she has (with herself) on the show. I’ve listened to some episodes, including her “do we need religion?” episode and her episode on influencers. She offers a raw and refreshing insight on topics in today’s culture all from a Generation Z mindset—when I say raw, while she is speaking from a script or outline, it’s almost like she’s talking to herself and having these conversations with herself, but she’s having it with thousands (I’m guessing her audience size) of people.
Wizards of Waverly Pod
I don’t listen to a lot of TV show recap podcasts, which is surprising considering how much I rewatch the same shows repeatedly, but this Wizards of Waverly Place recap show hosted by Jennifer Stone and David Deluise (Harper Finkle and Jerry Russo, respectively) is a treat. The first episode I listened to was episode three, the one with Selena Gomez, and I was almost brought to tears. I loved what Selena had to say about her time on the show and how she cherished that time spent with her Wizards family. Jennifer and David are watching every episode and breaking down each Wizards episode on the podcast. Definitely go listen if you were obsessed with Disney Channel (and still are) as much as me.
Gilmore to Say Podcast
If you can’t get enough of your “Gilmore Girls” re-watch, then listen to this podcast hosted by two fans themselves, Tara and Haley. Each episode on their Patreon page includes them watching episode by episode and breaking down the episode; they share their thoughts and opinions. However, the available, free episodes on Spotify and Apple Podcasts are them talking about a specific topic. I loved their discussion on Jess and Logan and whether each host is Team Jess or Team Logan—and why. Made me think why exactly I’m Team Jess in the first place, and seriously considering switching sides to Team Logan.
