100 Things To Do This Holiday Season
I guess you can call this a holiday bucket list?? Whatever you want to call it, I randomly gathered together 100 things to do this holiday season. Some of these are unhinged and some of these are kinda sweet. This is a shorter blog post, but I’m really trying to write as many blog posts in December as a challenge to myself, so here goes!
Treat yourself to a peppermint milkshake from Chick-Fil-A
Pick up a creative hobby like knitting or painting
Visit a paint and pour place where you paint and drink wine (or any other beverage lol)
Drive (or walk) around and see Christmas lights
Visit the large Christmas tree in your town (because every town has it)
Go see one of the movies in theaters
Don’t go Christmas shopping in person (because malls ugh)
Buy a new set of Christmas pajamas
Watch all the holiday movies in a row (yeah, you can do it)
Write a Hallmark movie (ok, I’m being sarcastic but what if you did??)
Go on a first date
Take yourself out on a date
Buy yourself something fancy (like a steak dinner—I am hungry as you can tell)
Bake all the treats (for yourself, or for someone you love)
Catch up with an old friend
Catch up with a grandparent or other elderly family member
Catch flights, not feelings and fly somewhere cool for the holiday season
Take a day trip two hours from your town (wherever that is)
Clean out your closet and donate it to charity
Start working on your New Year’s resolutions (and get creative with them)
Start a blog (and write your own 100 things to do this holiday season list)
Start vlogging (even if you don’t post anything)
Journal your life
Don’t text your hometown ex when you go back home
See a show on stage (like Broadway, but doesn’t have to be Broadway)
Visit NYC (or not, just kidding, it’s crazy this time of year)
Meet a famous person
Volunteer somewhere at a local food pantry, Angel Tree, or any other place that will take you
Do something nice for someone (like buy someone their favorite book)
Start a podcast with your bestie
Treat yourself
Learn the art of rest (because this one is important)
Binge-watch your favorite comfort show—because why start something new when there are episodes of Gilmore Girls and New Girl to re-watch??
Organize your Christmas decorations
Play in the snow (if you got some this year)
Play outside (if it’s not below freezing where you live)
Write handwritten Christmas cards
Read your Bible
Compliment a stranger
Slow down your morning and evening routines
Be kind to your body
Make a gratitude list
Start thinking about your 2023 word of the year
Create a bullet journal for 2023
Create a bookstagram (December is WONDERFUL for doing this)
Go to therapy
Brainstorm and write short stories that are constantly in your head
Coordinate a winter photo shoot and make it into a scavenger hunt
Create playlists (for yourself and friends)—bonus points if they’re holiday related
Download and play the Sims (because it’s vacation and we all are doing it)
Go Christmas caroling
Take a Christmas card photo with your friends
Read through your TBR (no seriously—challenge yourself to not buy any new books and actually read the books on your TBR)
Read holiday themed books
Visit a Christmas tree farm
Watch all the Christmas and holiday episodes from your favorite shows (who’s binging the Friends Thanksgiving episodes??)
Host a game night with friends
Host a holiday dinner party for friends
Donate to a cause you care about
Volunteer for a cause you care about
Set your goals for the next year
Perfect that holiday drink from Starbucks at home so you can save money (to spend on other things like clothes)
Call your senators (to annoy them about passing gun reform legislation)
Take Christmas Buzzfeed quizzes to see what type of potato you are (surely I am a French fry, right??)
Go ice skating
Visit a museum
Drink hot chocolate somewhere festive (aka a bar)
Make a wreath
Bake holiday cookies (the slice and bake from Pillsbury are my favorite)
Buy some holiday socks
Have a wine night with friends (or by yourself, I’m not judging)
Get a festive manicure (or do it yourself)
Re-watch The Crown—or watch it if you haven’t already (it’s a good Christmas TV show)
Brew a peppermint tea (or get your Keurig to do it for you)
Clean out your car
Volunteer at church
Pray for loved ones (and ask them how you can pray for them if you can)
Challenge yourself to try a new holiday recipe
Cook something in that crock pot that you said you was going to use “all the time” but only used it once in the fall during peak soup season
Buy your New Year’s Eve outfit even if you’ll be staying in on NYE
Buy your 2023 planner
Forgive someone
Tell Taylor Swift that you love her (and that she’ll be fine—iykyk)
Reread one of your favorite books
Read through your TBR (I know I already said this but you still probably won’t finish your TBR knowing how high it is)
Visit Washington D.C. and the Capitol Christmas tree
DM an influencer on how good their content is (lol)
Make a TikTok video (idk what it is, just make one)
Write down all the books you read this year
Write down all the movies or TV shows you watched this year and rank them
Rank the holiday movies you watched this season

Go to a wine tasting (preferably indoors)
Declutter your digital life (desktop, phone, email, etc.)
Decorate for Christmas
Bake holiday treats for your office
Hang some Christmas lights
DIY a holiday ornament
Kiss someone under the mistletoe
Buy and wear a tacky holiday sweater proudly
