My Favorite Worship Songs To Listen To In My Quiet Time
These will change—most likely every week—but I have been listening to worship music in my quiet time. Sometimes, I like to listen to “upbeat” Christian music, or essentially any music that has a beat. For my quiet time, I am definitely more of a slow and instrumental because I just like to spend this time with God.
*However, I do jam out to worship tunes while in the car or doing chores around my house, so stay tuned for a blog post that includes my worship playlist and check out my Worship playlist on Spotify.
Good Grace - Acoustic by Hillsong UNITED
When I put this song on (and yes, the acoustic version), I’m immediately in my quiet time. It’s my go-to when I am feeling anxious or overwhelmed and I need a good moment to slow down, take a breath, and recenter my heart towards God.
Man of Your Word by Maverick City Music, Chandler Moore
Maverick City Music is just amazing all the time with every single they release. But “Man of Your Word” is a song where I can relax and sit in prayer with God. The lyric, “if we said it, we believe it” just repeats over and over in my head whenever I’m feeling anxious.
Jireh by Maverick City Music (feat. Chandler Moore & Elevation Worship and Naomi Raine)
A recent release, this one is a must-listen for my quiet time. The slow rhythm of how it starts sets the tone of my quiet time with God. It brings peace whenever I’m feeling anxious (a common theme in my favorite worship songs) and I tend to listen to this song specifically when I’m about to dive into the Word. The lyric, “I’m already loved, I’m already chosen, I know who I am…” leading into the bridge just gets me every time.
King of Kings - Acoustic by Hillsong UNITED
I know I include all of the Hillsong songs, but you can type “King of Kings” or any other worship song title in Spotify or Apple Music, and others will pop up. (Chandler Moore recorded King of Kings!) I absolutely love this hymn, but when I found the acoustic version, I immediately added it to my playlist. Acoustic songs fit my quiet time with God more than the normal version.
Reckless Love - Live by Passion, Melodie Malone
Passion is another mega-church (I attended their Passion City Church DC for a few months). The song, “Reckless Love” is a song I added to my quiet time worship playlist and play it typically towards the end of my quiet time, after I read my devotional.
Awesome God - Live by Hillsong UNITED
Again, this is a common hymn but I saved the Hillsong version in my worship playlist. (Feel free to find other versions!) This typical children’s hymn is a favorite in my quiet time worship playlist. And if you really want to cry in the car, listen to the “A Week Away” version.
Red Letters by Crowder
This isn’t a typical worship hymn that you hear in church, but Crowder is just too good not to include in my quiet time. I end up in tears by the end and the song overall reminds me that we can never be too far from God. He is always there, arms stretched out wide ready to welcome us home.
Most Beautiful / So In Love by Maverick City Music, Chandler Moore
Surprise—who expected another Maverick City Music song? To finish this round-up of worship songs that I listen to in my quiet time, this is a go-to when I just need a good worship song to sit in time with the Father. Go ahead, listen to it.
