Bible Verses To Remember When You Don’t Feel Confident
Confidence is a tricky thing. For me, some days I am very confident, motivated, and feeling very good about myself. And then some days, I just feel bloated, sluggish, and generally, not good about myself. On those “bad” days, I tend to get slightly depressed and sad, and don’t feel like seeing anyone or doing anything.
In 2021, I began therapy (one of my resolutions for last year) and one thing I’ve been working with my therapist is to keep affirmations in mind. As a Christian, affirmations can work but Scripture memorization is something I’m striving to work on in the new year so I can remember the truth that God wants us to remember and remain in our hearts.
In this blog post includes both affirmations and Bible verses that I like to remember on those “bad” days.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” —Psalm 139:13-14
“With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people gained confidence from what Hegelian the king of Judah said.” —2 Chronicles 32:8
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” —2 Timothy 1:7
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” —2 Corinthians 12:9
“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” —Ephesians 3:12
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” —Hebrews 4:16
“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” —Hebrews 13:6
“The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.” —Isaiah 32:17
“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” —Isaiah 40:31
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” —Jeremiah 17:7
