A Review: Rivals (American Royals III) by Katherine McGee

The third American Royals book is HERE!!!! I have been waiting for this since she announced it, and oh boy, I finished this one in days. Like, a matter of days.

Synopsis:

The third book in the New York Times bestselling American Royals series is here, and a meeting of monarchs will test everyone's loyalty to the crown...and their own hearts.

Beatrice is queen, and for the American royal family, everything is about to change.

Relationships will be tested.
Princess Samantha is in love with Lord Marshall Davis--but the more serious they get, the more complicated things become. Is Sam destined to repeat her string of broken relationships...and this time will the broken heart be her own?

Strangers will become friends.
Beatrice is representing America at the greatest convocation of kings and queens in the world. When she meets a glamorous foreign princess, she gets drawn into the inner circle...but at what cost?

And rivals will become allies.
Nina and Daphne have spent years competing for Prince Jefferson. Now they have something in common: they both want to take down manipulative Lady Gabriella Madison. Can these enemies join forces, or will old rivalries stand in the way?

My Review:

The entire premise of this book alone, and how it continued after Majesty was just incredible. While I did love Majesty, I wasn’t a big fan of Teddy at the beginning of that book, but he quickly captured my heart like he did with Beatrice. And this book, I loved him even more.

While I think Beatrice is still my favorite character, one character I absolutely loved to read is Nina’s. I thought we got to know her character more outside the royal family and really see her come into her own.

But the one character I was SHOCKED to actually root for was Daphne. Known as a social climber in the previous two books, her character arc completely switched and came to be known more of a loyal friend than a social climber. And honestly? I’m here for Daphne’s redemption arc.

Overall, I will always love this series and good news … Katherine McGee has already promised a fourth book. So while I anxiously wait for the fourth book (who knows when that will come??), I rounded up a list of movies and TV shows I’ll be watching to stay in the #royal mood. (Hint: I’m going to go watch season two of Bridgerton now.)
