Hey, friends.

It’s been a minute since I talked about the books that I’M reading, and tbh, for good reason. I stopped posting those “books I finished this month” blog posts and Instagram posts (on my booksta) because it felt like I wasn’t reading enough. And I didn’t like that — constantly trying to hit a certain quota … I didn’t feel like a good enough reader if I didn’t hit my TBR goal for that month.

But time has passed and I’m here with a TBR blog post! I have a looooong list that I put together here and honestly, I don’t think I’ll get through this list by the end of July. I’m moving this month, and moving is A PROCESS, let me tell you. So really, this blog post will probably be a “Books I Want To Read In July and August.” But perhaps even fall.

Anyways, let’s get on with the list, shall we?

Books I Want To Read In July

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

I finished I Kissed Shara Wheeler and Red, White, and Royal Blue FINALLY and I quickly fell in love with Casey McQuiston’s writing. They were both such good escape reads (I happened to read both books around significant, political turmoil events in this country) and I loved every second of it. Specifically, Red, White, and Royal Blue captured my heart in a way in which a book hasn’t captured my heart in a long time. I’m a tad nervous to read One Last Stop because it has a little supernatural fantasy thrown in there, but I trust Casey McQuiston as an author.

Find Your People by Jennie Allen

This has been on my list FOREVER, and I may not read this in July because of so many other fiction books I want to get my hands on. I actually read this book for work (or at least skimmed through it) and thought it was incredible. Jennie Allen wrote Get Out Of Your Head, which was a favorite of mine. This one is all about friendships and loneliness and making friends, and I think that's a great book for everyone to read, but specifically young adults in their 20s who want to make friends. I can’t wait to read through this again.

What Will They Think? By Grace Valentine

Similar to Find Your People, this is a book that could probably wait, but I anticipate this as a short read to get through quickly. Grace Valentine is an exceptional author that brings a lot of relatability to her books. I loved her first two books, especially her first book, Am I Enough? It was the perfect Christian book to read at the time, and sometimes, I still pick it up from time to time. I’m excited to read her third book!

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

A secret society on a college campus? Sign me up. This is a book that I was saving for the fall, because it’s technically a fantasy, but I think I’m too excited to read this that I want to read it sometime in July or August. It sounds young adult and fantasy, and even has some fairy tale lore in there, too.

The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

I love and would read any book about books and publishing. A book about estranged partners reuniting again to write a romance novel? I’m hooked. I can’t wait to dive into this one.

Circling Back To You by Julie Tieu

Normally, I wouldn’t be into a workplace romance (I didn’t like The Hating Game), but this one really sounds intriguing. It’s a friends-to-lovers, fake dating scheme that I hope to quickly fall in love wiht.

On Rotation by Shirlene Obuobi

I put this one on my TBR after reading Dating Dr. Dil because I had thought that one was similar to Grey’s Anatomy, but it wasn’t. I’m hoping this one is, but even if it isn’t, I still anticipate this to be a good one.

Meant To Be Mine by Hannah Orenstein

I’ve followed Hannah Orenstein, the author, on Instagram (@hannahorenstein) for a couple of years now and followed her writing process (and love her writing tips for aspiring authors!), specifically her writing process for this specific book. I’m excited to read this Jewish rom-com.

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

I’m a newbie at Elin Hilderbrand books, but I was excited to pick this for my BOTM box (it was an old BOTM pick). It has a bit of a mystery in this beach novel, which I’m pleasantly intrigued by.

A new book that releases this summer … and about the publishing world. I immediately added this to my list.

Of course, I always read backlist books (I joke that my “brand” is reading last year’s popular book), but I want to collect a round-up of backlist books that are “slept-on” and try and read them more. But that should be coming … within the next month. I’m moving this month which takes a lot of my time and the only free time I want to spend is watching re-runs of Gilmore Girls and reading.
